EXPLANATION OF PAST POSTS:

Poem: Smoke - This was a rather personal poem of mine which was very cathartic to put into words. I do not want to go too far into detail about it, but this has been my experience for the past few months in terms of my social life. Structurally, I made each stanza a line smaller than the one before it to signify how I am slowly disappearing from the said cave, just like smoke. This continues until there is only one line left and the smoke is just gone. This poem specifically was intended to be left to interpretation so please take it as you will.

Short Story: The Panther - This was an interesting one. I enjoyed writing it purely because of the many different elements I was able to draw into a single story: love, evil, foreshadowing a dark fate, and the unpredictability of relationships. While I do believe the story moved rather quickly, which prevented me from creating any form of character development, I think that is the beauty of the tale. In its brevity, the story shows that the world is bigger than Casta. It is full of the stories of Silus and the Panther and a whole other world that Casta is entirely ignorant of. Much like the doves at the beginning of the story, Casta's ignorance and bliss was inevitably her downfall.

Poem: Sister Sea - This was a poem directed at the injustices humanity has committed unto Mother Nature, but most specifically, Sister Sea. In this, Sister Sea is pleading with humanity and hoping that they will save her and even threats them with destruction to make sure they remember her power. I hope you enjoy! As an advocate for the well-being of our world I hope this touches the hearts of you guys and encourages you to help take better care of our oceans, parks, and world.

Teaser: Ghosted - Ghosted is based on a dream that I had where a group of ghosts would choose a human and use that human to compete for their freedom in a series of physical and mental competitions. In the teaser, the team of ghosts included Wu Zetian, Butch Cassidy, Queen Victoria, Rameses the Great, and Alexander the Great who kidnap a modern teenager (also if you do not know who these people are, I recommend you look them up because they are super interseting). This (much like The Man in the Boat) has potential of becoming a novel but for now I will be focusing my energy on 101 Ingredients!

Teaser: 101 Ingredients - This is a little sneak peak into my novel! As said in the title, the name is 101 Ingredients and I hope it gets you as excited as I am. I'll continue posting more with character introductions and setting descriptions.

Short Story: For My Country - I started this piece trying to analyze whether or not it is right to kill someone else in the name of war. I'd like to hope that my stance is seen in this piece and that others analyze the way I did. There was also many unanswered questions by the end of the story. And honestly, that's exactly how I wanted it and there is no way that even I can answer those questions. The soldier, the sniper, the tears, and the bullets all represent different entities to different readers which is one of the main reasons that I am so proud of this work.

Teaser: The Man in the Boat - This is more of a short story, but it has potential for a novel. For now, I plan to hold on to this and keep working on it to see if it can be something more. This piece is also (partially) an ode to nature. I wrote this during my time in Oxford, where I developed a bond with nature stronger than I had ever felt before. I tried to describe my experiences with a fun fantastical twist and two lovable characters. I honestly cannot wait to bring this world to life in (hopefully) many more stories to come!

Poem: The Ardent Bird - Honestly, I do not prefer to explain my poems. This is because the most beautiful thing about poetry is that there is no wrong interpretation, these interpretations can only be made by an individual reader. Simply said, however, a prevailing theme in this is ambition and its downfalls.
